The final tally is in on Mississippi State's investigation into The Pony Affair, wherein a handful of prospects enjoyed a local strip club during a recruiting visit to Starkville in January and promptly took to Facebook to broadcast their joy to the world: According to a Feb. 24 letter to the NCAA, the university self-reported three secondary violations and voluntarily docked itself seven official visits by recruits (out of a maximum of 56) next year -- one visit for each recruit it found to have visited the club, along with "some" current players. State also held a meeting with all of its athletes and sent a letter of admonishment to coach Dan Mullen, who we can assume has never even heard of The Pony before all this. Right, coach?
