If there were any doubts about the Pac-10's commitment to raising its long-suffering media profile, its upcoming media day strategy should put them to rest: Commissioner Larry Scott announced Wednesday that conference officials and coaches will take a mini-barnstorming tour of the East Coast in July, beginning with major outlets in New York and a quick trip to ESPN studios in Connecticut before returning to Los Angeles for media day proper. It's just a P.R. blitz, but also a sign that the most contentedly underexposed conference in the country before Scott's arrival isn't going to be left behind when its turn comes in next year's all-important television negotiations.
