After a three game road trip the CMU football team finally returns home on Saturday to play MAC West rival Ball State. Kelly/Shorts stadium has been very kind to the Chippewa’s of late.  They are 17-4 at home since 2006, and have won 6 games in a row and 10 of their last 11.  Their only loss in the that time happens to be to Ball State, but that was when Nate Davis lead the #14 ranked Cardinals to Mt Pleasant and came away with a 31-24 victory.  Last year CMU had no problem getting revenge in Munci as they easily beat BSU 35-3. A lot was made before the season about all the weapons CMU was loosing and concerns about this team were many. Even though they are 2-2 so far in this young season the numbers look good when compared to the rest of the conference. CMU is #1 in the conference in total offense, at 428.8 ypg and first in scoring offense, 30 ppg, those numbers of course were helped by the 33-0 game against Hampton and the 52-12 game against Eastern.
