Thanksgiving/rivalry week has several college football games for fans to be thankful for. The BCS picture is anything but decided at this point and a few games could really alter the standings this week. The obvious one is a showdown between the #1 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the USC Trojans.
If the Irish can pull off this road win they all but lock up their spot in the National Championship game, which seems even more likely now that QB Matt Barkley is out for USC. Confidence is still floating around the USC camp as red-shirt freshman QB Max Wittak was quoted saying ”We’re going to win this ballgame” in an interview with ESPN radio. How about you win one game before you guarantee a win against the #1 team Wittak.
Don’t forget about the Iron Bowl this week! Does anyone think that Auburn can beat that 31 point spread? All we know is that the Bama faithful are going to be a treat next week if this does end up being a blowout. Roll Tide!

Wittek is confident, but nothing is guaranteed
Max Wittek and Matt Barkley huddled briefly Tuesday after practice, the USC quarterbacks sharing a laugh and perhaps strategy before facing a phalanx of reporters and camera operators in separate interviews.
Wittek wore a grin on his bearded face, Barkley a black sling on his injured right arm.
For Wittek, a redshirt freshman who will start in place of Barkley on Saturday against...

Is Lane Kiffin trolling the Irish?
Lane Kiffin is known for many things. Draw your own conclussions. However, he is known for holding is cards close regarding discussing player injuries. And now, here's this. Yesterday's practive video shows freshman quarterback Matt Wittek taking snaps preparing to be the starter for Saturday's game with Notre Dame. That's fine, no problem at all. Starter Matt Barkley...
Freshman QB leads USC against No. 1 Notre Dame
Not many young quarterbacks would even have the audacity to imagine making their first career starts under the circumstances surrounding Max Wittek on Saturday.
The freshman is replacing Matt Barkley, an injured senior who has claimed most of the career passing records at Southern California. He's facing Notre Dame (11-0), a storied football power with a No. 1 ranking and the...
USC backup QB Max Wittek guarantees a win over Notre Dame
With USC quarterback Matt Barkley having been ruled out of Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury, most people have already penciled Notre Dame into the BCS National Championship game. Max Wittek, Barkley’s freshman backup who has attempted only nine passes in his collegiate career, is here to tell those people to pump the brakes.
“We haven’t got the full game plan yet, but...
College Football's Top Games of the Week: Thanksgiving Edition
Game of the Week: (1) Notre Dame at USC8:00 PM ET – ABCUSC has won this game nine times in the last decade and will look to tack on one more ruby to the Jeweled Shillelagh as the Trojans try and play the spoiler to the Irish. With Matt Barkley out of the picture I don’t expect USC’s offense to put up many points against the best defense in the nation. This is the...

USC's Back-Up QB Guaranteed a Victory Over Notre Dame
USC redshirt freshman QB Max Wittek has three carries on the season for negative 13 yards. He may not be good at running the ball, but he's making a name for himself running his mouth after guaranteeing a USC victory over Notre Dame yesterday.
Wittek, who will start in place of injured Heisman candidate (hahahahaha) Matt Barkley, told ESPN Radio's LA affiliate, "I...
Barkley, Smith head a talented but undistinguished QB class in 2013
Unlike the 2012 Draft when many NFL teams were drooling over all of the top-flight talent available to them at the quarterback position, next year’s crop of signal callers is short on expectations, if not talent. Only two QBs, USC Matt Barkley and West Virginia Geno Smith are sure fire, first round material, and that is with an asterisk. The rest of the 2013 NFL Draft QB class...
SEC Bashers Will Be Big Fans of Notre Dame, Georgia Tech This Weekend in College Football
Does anyone really want to see another all-SEC rematch in the BCS national championship game? Except for those in SEC country, the answer is a resounding “no.” Last year’s 21-0 Alabama title victory over LSU was rather dull to everyone but Tide fans.
But after losses by the BCS’s top two teams, Kansas State and Oregon, this past weekend, the possibility remains that two SEC...

There’s more than a place in this year’s BCS Championship on the line at the LA Coliseum this weekend. This is rivalry weekend. There’s pride on the line.
Make no mistake about it, USC would love nothing more than to upset bitter rivals Notre Dame on Saturday night and knock the Fighting Irish out of the championship picture, a victory that would not just make up for a disappointing...
