As you might already know, we’re big fans of University of Houston quarterback Case Keenum around the Network and believe he’s one of the country’s most underrated quarterbacks.
Today’s performance by Keenum is another reason why.
In leading the Cougars to a dominant 56-13 win over the UAB Blazers, and throwing for 400+ yards and two touchdowns (and running for two more), Case Keenum has broken the all-time NCAA career passing yardage record previously held by University of Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang.
Keenum, a long-shot to win the Heisman Trophy, has struggled somewhat with injury issues during his time in Houston, but has shown time-and-again the ability to bounce back from injury and play at a high-level.
This resilience, grit, and consistency has begun to finally impress NFL scouts in the process, giving him a legitimate chance at quarterbacking at the next level.
Regardless of whether his collegiate success is replicated in the NFL, Case Keenum is certainly one of the best quarterbacks to come out of the state of Texas in some time, right in line with Colt McCoy, Vince Young and others who earned their time in the national spotlight.
Congrats to Case Keenum on an outstanding accomplishment and a storied career at the University of Houston– a career which isn’t over just yet.
