As you might already know, we’re big fans of University of Houston quarterback Case Keenum around the Network and believe he’s one of the country’s most underrated quarterbacks.

Today’s performance by Keenum is another reason why.

In leading the Cougars to a dominant 56-13 win over the UAB Blazers, and throwing for 400+ yards and two touchdowns (and running for two more), Case Keenum has broken the all-time NCAA career passing yardage record previously held by University of Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang.

Keenum, a long-shot to win the Heisman Trophy, has struggled somewhat with injury issues during his time in Houston, but has shown time-and-again the ability to bounce back from injury and play at a high-level.

This resilience, grit, and consistency has begun to finally impress NFL scouts in the process, giving him a legitimate chance at quarterbacking at the next level.

Regardless of whether his collegiate success is replicated in the NFL, Case Keenum is certainly one of the best quarterbacks to come out of the state of Texas in some time, right in line with Colt McCoy, Vince Young and others who earned their time in the national spotlight.

Congrats to Case Keenum on an outstanding accomplishment and a storied career at the University of Houston– a career which isn’t over just yet.

Keenum sets passing record on the fringes

Case Keenum set the record out on the fringes, which is where he lives. He was in Birmingham, Ala., not 60 miles from the big game in Tuscaloosa. Keenum's performance was nationally televised, but that hardly means the nation saw it. He set the NCAA career passing yardage record the same way everybody sets that record on the outskirts of college football, out where the street...

Houston QB Keenum in hot pursuit of another record

Case Keenum is taking aim at another NCAA passing record against one of the nation's most porous defenses. The quarterback for No. 14 Houston enters Saturday night's visit to UAB needing just 267 yards to become college football's most prolific passer. These days, that's a good half for Keenum. Barring injury, Keenum should have no problem overtaking the NCAA career...

New NCAA All-Time Passing Leader: Houston’s Case Keenum

It’s been a year of shattering records in college football. The Oklahoma Sooners ‘ Ryan Broyles surpassed Vinny Sutherland of Purdue for most career receptions a few weeks ago. Unfortunately yesterday, Broyles career ended with an ACL tear. Hopefully, for Houston’s Case Keenum, a similar fate doesn’t befall him now that he’s in a similar position. Yesterday...

Houston-Tulane Preview

With the pursuit of a trio of NCAA career records out of the way, Houston quarterback Case Keenum can now focus exclusively on leading his school to its first unbeaten season. The 11th-ranked Cougars continue that quest with a visit to struggling Tulane on Thursday night. Already owning NCAA records for total offense and passing touchdowns, Keenum surpassed Hawaii's Timmy Chang...

Cougars aiming for best start in school history

Houston head coach Kevin Sumlin has one of those problems very few of his coaching peers have much sympathy for. At his weekly media conference Nov. 1, the head coach of the 8-0 Cougars was asked, as he has been for the entire season, about how he deals with having so many players -- senior quarterback Case Keenum chief among them -- seemingly setting more and more individual records...
