"I told him get to the doctor and see him six or seven times a day, don't leave his side, don't come out here and try to look at practice, stay in there and get back," Hurd said. "You can get back quicker if you don't waste any time."
While it's not known whether Bryant will fully heed Hurd's advice, the Cowboys are optimistic the former Oklahoma State star will make a speedy recovery from a high right ankle sprain expected to sideline him four to six weeks.
"He's a young guy and you'd bet that he'd be on the downside of it," Jerry Jones said Saturday.
Bryant, though, apparently didn't listen to Hurd, who missed the first three games of the 2008 season with a high ankle sprain.
