PLAYERS: Case Keenum
TEAMS: Houston Cougars

Nice costume kid.  Very authentic, right down to the old-timey leather helmet.  Wonder if the little scamp came up with the idea on his own, or if his parents promised him a new puppy if he let them turn him into a living, breathing Heisman Trophy and show him off at the Houston-SMU game, which the Cougars won easily 37-7. I don’t recall the actual trophy having such a scowl on it’s face, but I doubt that the real Heisman is made of a live, human kid slowly suffocating to death from paint and humiliation, thanks to his overbearing parents. Seriously, it’s like Toddlers and Tiaras for football fans. [via @cjzero]

Can SMU's defense contain Case Keenum?

Houston quarterback Case Keenum is the all-time FBS leader in total yards, passing yards and passing touchdowns, but the Cougars have faced some of the worst defenses in the country this season. SMU will be the Cougar's biggest test of the year, coming in with the second-ranked defense in C-USA. Will the Mustangs' D be able to quiet the Houston hype?

Keenum becomes FBS leader in completions

Houston senior quarterback Case Keenum set the Football Bowl Subdivision career record for completions in the first quarter of Saturday's game against SMU. Keenum needed seven completions to eclipse Graham Harrell's FBS record (1,403), set with Texas Tech from 2005-08. He surpassed Harrell's mark on a 22-yard pass to running back Bryce Beall on the Cougars' second...

Houston Cougars stay unbeaten as QB Case Keenum sets another record

Maybe Houston's defense deserves some notoriety, too. Case Keenum set the Football Bowl Subdivision career record for completions, threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score as No. 11 Houston stayed unbeaten with a 37-7 win over SMU on Saturday. The Cougars' top-ranked offense sputtered for much of the game, so Houston turned to its unheralded defense to beat the Mustangs...

Jones sees a bit of Rodgers in Keenum

SMU coach June Jones sees a lot of another quarterback in Houston's Case Keenum, just not the one you'd expect. When he coached Hawaii, Jones helped Tim Chang become the NCAA's career leader in total offense and passing yards between 2000-04. Keenum has eclipsed Chang's records - and a few others - while guiding No. 11 Houston (10-0, 6-0 Conference USA) to the best...

SMU offense stalls in 37-7 loss to Houston

The SMU defense kept Case Keenum and Houston's prolific offense under control - at least as much as any team can control the high-scoring Cougars. The Mustangs' offense, however, sputtered without its star tailback and No. 11 Houston rolled to a 37-7 victory Saturday. Keenum set the Football Bowl Subdivision career record for completions, threw a touchdown pass and ran...

As Keenum picks up more records, Houston gathers steam toward BCS

In 2001, Houston went 0-11. Now the 11th-ranked Cougars are 11-0 after throttling SMU. Brett McMurphy says they've got Case Keenum and his myriad records to thank for their being in a spot to make a BCS bowl.

Houston's 37-7 victory over SMU a 'tough win'

HOUSTON It has come down to characterizing a 30-point win as a big test. A 500-yard offensive day is a grind. A "championship drive" is one in which you push the score from 23-7 to 30-7. "It gave us coaches a chance to yell at some guys," Houston coach Kevin Sumlin said. He said this about a 37-7 win over SMU (6-5, 4-3 Conference USA) for his 10th-ranked...

Houston doesn’t flinch despite plenty of distractions

Iowa State's upset of Oklahoma State did more than help Houston and its ascension up the BCS standings. It put the Cougars on notice. Oklahoma State was proof that no matter how well things are going, an undefeated season can be undone if you don't come to play. So, with ESPN's College Gameday in town, senior day and a whole host of other distractions on the Houston campus...
