De’Andre Johnson, 6’3 311lb Defensive Lineman, is the next Georgia Bulldog signee that we are going to take a look at. Johnson is from Newnan, GA where he played his high school football at Northgate where he was coached by Tommy Walburn.
De'Andre also competed on the Track team as the shot putter. After Johnson’s senior season he was named to the PrepStar All-Southeast Region team, 2012 Georgia Sports Writers Association Class 5A Second Team All-State, and Score Atlanta Final 50 Selection. He was a 3-Star Prospect according to Scout (52nd DT), Rivals, and ESPN (84th DT) and 247sports (31st DT).
On February 28, 2012 Johnson called Coach Lilly and gave him the news that he was ready to commit to the Bulldogs. At the time, Johnson had offers from Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Purdue, and Mississippi State. Georgia Tech finished 2nd in the running for Johnson’s services.
