Indiana University faces Michigan State this Saturday for Homecoming. The Hoosiers, 2-2 (0-1), faces a formerly ranked Spartans, 3-2 (0-1), that has lost two close games in the past three weeks.

Both teams are looking for their first Big Ten win of the season. Michigan should be contending for a Big Ten championship, but are currently at the bottom of the Legends division.

Michigan State lost to then No. 20 Notre Dame and No. 14 Ohio State, both games at home. The Spartans lost by just one point to OSU and lost 20-3 to the Irish.

The Spartans no longer have a dynamic offense like they have in the past few years but they have traded it for a stifling defense. They have only managed 20 points per game on offense. They rank dead last in the the Big Ten in total offense.

Defensively, Michigan State has been amazing. They are 12th in the nation in points allowed with teams scoring just under 13 points a game. They have the best defense in the Big Ten by a wide margin.

Junior runningback Le'Veon Bell leads the Big Ten and is fifth in the nation in rushing. The 6-foot-2 244lbs back in a match-up nightmare for IU. He had a tough game against Ohio State last week and will be looking for a big rebound.

IU and MSU will be playing for the Old Brass Spittoon. The Spartans lead the series 41-15-2, and in all likely hood probably won't even bring the trophy down to Bloomington with the team, just a hunch.

Coach Kevin Wilson talked about the upcoming game in his weekly press conference
