Many things have been written about Jimmy Clausen from a poor teammate to lack of arm strength. These usually are the two main things that you hear about Jimmy Clausen. None of the top teams who do need a quarterback has said a lot about Clausen or his workouts. Clausen has decent size at 6Ft 3in and weighs in at 223lbs. In his college career he threw for over 8,000 yards and 60 touchdowns. This past college season he cut down his interception from 17 to 4. This is a big improvement. Clausen does not have the strongest arm in the world, but many quarterbacks in the the NFL do not.
I really like Clausen on several fronts. First he did run an offense similar to what the NFL runs at Notre Dame. He also reads defenses pretty good which will help him down the road. He also plays hard and never gives up. Clausen played hurt during his Junior year as well. Jimmy Clausen though needs to be put in the right type of offense to be successful. Short to medium range passes is what he really does best. Build an offense around him like that and he will be successful. He can move around, but not real mobile. In the end Jimmy Clausen can play at the next level if he is put in the right situation.
