Nothing is ever easy at West Virginia. The Mountaineers are a program on the rise with brilliant young coach and dynamic players that light up the scoreboard like fireworks on the 4th of July.
The future is very bright for the Mountaineers. They’ll soon be leaving the disrespected Big East for the well-respected and Big 12 and those lovable national pundits see our Mounties starting the 2012 season in the top ten and in the national title hunt.
So how come hiring a defensive coordinator to replace Jeff Casteel is so hard?
It wasn’t meant to be hard. Luck and company knew Casteel was leaving and they knew he would Lockwood and Kirelawich with him. They also had his replacement in Brian Stewart ready to bolt Houston for Morgantown.
And then WVU won the Orange Bowl 70-33 and all Pitt broke lose.
Suddenly the entire landscape changed for WVU. They were now the hot team – the team on everybody’s lips and maybe they could do better than Brian Stewart.
