fan (n.) an ardent devotee
The term fan is thrown around much too often these days. As a fan of the Miami Hurricanes I enjoy going to and watching their games and supporting the program. There are some out there that call themselves fans, but clearly are not.
Jacory Harris. Quarterback for the Hurricanes. 2nd all time in school history in passing touchdowns. Chose to attend UM when it wasn’t a very popular choice. He is beloved by his teammates, coaches, and virtually everyone who meets him. He steps in to make his first start versus #17 Ohio State this year and guides the team to a 24-6 victory, throwing two touchdowns and two interceptions along the way. And what is he met with after the game? The following messages via Twitter from supposed Hurricane fans:
