Does any ‘Cane fan remember Miami QB Jacory Harris’ Sophomore year? The one where he threw for three thousand plus yards and 24 touchdowns? The year when we all thought he would have a shot as a Heisman dark horse the next season? After a woeful grudge match against Ohio State in Columbus and a whole lot of dumb picks later, ‘Canes fans now have been trained like Pavlov’s Dog to hold their breath each time Harris drops pack to pass. After all the growth in confidence in the Hurricanes QB, all of that shattered apart after his early troubles. Add to the insult the absolutely concussive hit that Harris took against Virginia, the emergence of Stephen Morris, and a dreadful showing against Notre Dame, and ‘Canes fans seemingly learned to despise Harris. If any fan were to create a mental slideshow from memory of all the picks they can remember that Harris has thrown, an overwhelming amount would be represented in under-thrown, late, deep passes.
