South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney is a veritable man among boys, and clearly one of the best—if not the best—players in college football on either side of the ball. You need look no further than this devastating, bone crushing, monster of a hit he laid on Michigan RB Vincent Smith in today’s Outback Bowl to know that what I speak is the truth.
And if that freakishly athletic tackle for a loss and fumble didn’t convince you, pay attention to the fact that Clowney had the wherewithal to scoop up the loose ball with his left hand, in the most nonchalant, totally casual manner.
While Clowney’s day may have bordered more on the quiet side—save for this extraordinary play—his Gamecocks did manage to top the Wolverines in the Outback Bowl by a score of 33-28. Whichever NFL team scores Clowney in the 2014 draft (he plans on returning to South Carolina for one more season) will have nabbed themselves a bonafide superstar.
Here’s a GIF of Clowney’s spectacular play, because GIFs are cool…
