Found December 08, 2013 on Diehardsport:
After winning the ACC Championship game over the Duke Blue Devils, Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston had an interview with Heather Cox.  Cox asked four questions about the investigation and after the fourth one asking why Jameis didn’t talk during the investigation, he walked away.  I don’t blame him for walking away, he’s trying to celebrate winning the ACC with his team and he keeps getting asked questions about an issue that has already been resolved. ESPN Won’t Apologize For Asking Jameis Winston About Rape Investigation

Winston’s attorney demanded an apology for this. I can understand a couple of questions (which Jameis handled well), but she pushed it a little too far. ESPN says they won’t issue an apology. Via ESPN management re: Heather Cox/Jameis Winston: "Florida State agreed to the interview with no restrictions." — Richard Deitsch (@richarddeitsch) December 9, 2013 If...

Jameis Winston’s Lawyer Wants Apology from Heather Cox for Rape Questions

We brought you the footage earlier of the inappropriate questions asked by Heather Cox to Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston after winning the ACC title. The questions should have been football related and almost none of them were. I didn’t blame Jameis for walking away, he handled it correctly. Now his lawyer wants Cox to […]

During the investigation and Thursday’s announcement, Winston refused to talk to the media about the situation. On Saturday night, the Florida State Seminoles beat the Duke Blue Devils in the Atlantic Coastal Conference...

The integrity clause for the Heisman Trophy has to go

The Heisman Trophy trust announced its six finalists for the annual award on Sunday and the nominees are Jameis Winston, Jordan Lynch, Andre Williams, AJ McCarron, Tre Mason and Johnny Manziel. Seemingly every year, at least one Heisman voter quotes the Heisman Trophy mission statement as a reason to not vote for someone. Normally they highlight the word "integrity"...

Florida State 45, Duke 7: Takeaways & observations

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- No freshman quarterback in Football Bowl Subdivision history has had a season as good as Jameis Winston. The Florida State star made plenty of mistakes but still threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns in Florida State's 45-7 win over Duke in the ACC championship game on Saturday. But he threw for two touchdown passes, giving him 38 this season. Winston...

Another blowout has FSU back in national title game

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It's been 13 years since Florida State last played for a national title. The No. 1 Seminoles now have a spot in the BCS championship game, and they did it with (what else?) a performance that showed their dominance while thrashing yet another team. Jameis Winston threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns, further cementing his Heisman Trophy candidacy, and...

Four Things to Watch: ACC Championship Game

Yes, No. 20 Duke is a substantial underdog facing off against No. 1 Florida State. But it's still the ACC Championship game, and if Duke's season to date has told us anything, it's to expect the unexpected. There will still be plenty of fun storylines and people to follow as the game unfolds, and if these go wrong (or right, depending on perspective) for either one of...

5 Things to Know: Florida State-Auburn matchup

Florida State started the season ranked just outside the top 10. Quickly it became apparent the Seminoles were much better than that. Auburn started this season picked to finish fifth in the SEC West. Coming off a 3-9 season with no Southeastern Conference victories, the Tigers steadily climbed up the rankings with a string of surprising, sometimes stunning, victories. The top...

College Football 2014: Darkhorse Heisman Candidates

Once the Heisman Trophy is handed to FSU’s Jameis Winston next Saturday night in New York, the question will immediately be asked, “Can he win it again?”The redshirt freshman will do his best to prove he is not a one-hit wonder for the Seminoles and college football. But he will have some company. The usual suspects may be back for another run at a national title and possibly...

Predictions For SEC and Big 10 Championship Games

Via @Crazy4NYSports A year ago today, Georgia was supposed to be the team to beat Alabama. They got three-quarters of the way there, but a gaffe at the end of the season ended their hopes.  Don’t worry Georgia, Alabama can relate.   A gaffe at the end of their game last week against Auburn, cost them the game and another Championship. I’m saying Florida State has already punched...
