Jim Mora may make headlines every once in a while, but he’s never afraid to realize his mistakes and apologize the next day. On Tuesday, Mora said the owner of a fake Twitter account , posing as UCLA safety Randall Goforth, should be sent to jail. On Wednesday, the UCLA head coach lowered his stance on the punishment of social media imposters. “Obviously I overreacted. Obviously I don’t want the guy in jail,” said Mora. “You know, it made good headlines I guess. But I looked at it and go, ‘You’re just an idiot.’ But I’m good for something stupid said every once in a while.” After Tuesday’s practice, Mora made sure to address that the comments made by the fake Goforth were not in fact coming from a UCLA player. He called the owner of the account a “knucklehead,” “scumbag” and “lowest form of life-form.” The imposter was tweeting to USC wide receiver Robert Woods, talking trash about their upcoming matchup on Nov. 17. Mora touched base with Trojans head coach Lane Kiffin to clarify that it wasn’t one of his players sending out the tweets. Mora said that he lashed out and said the fake-Tweeter should be sent to jail because he thinks of his players as his own children. “These guys, right now, I feel like they’re my kids,” said Mora. “And when someone attacks your kids, you get angry.” So if you were thinking of creating a fake Jim Mora Twitter account, it may be a good idea to ditch that plan. You could be sent to San Quentin. Watch Mora’s statements after Wednesday’s practice in the video below.
