Brett Nelson a 6-foot-4 221-pound quarterback from Southwestern Community College in Chula Vista, CA., will take an official visit to Louisville on Friday afternoon.
He picked up a scholarship from Charlie Strong on Wednesday.
Nelson was originally a member of the 2011 class and played at St. Francis High School in La Canada, CA. He received interest from Purdue, Indiana State and Holy Cross out of high school, but never received any scholarship offers. Nelson threw for 250 yards per game last season for 28 total touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
Nelson has his own personal quarterback coach, George Whitfield. He is also a quarterback coach for Andrew Luck and Cam Newton. Louisville is currently the only BCS program that has offered Nelson a scholarship.
