There was a highlight during Thursday night’s opening night of college football game between Kent State and Towson, and it wasn’t a good one.Kent State was punting to Towson on the play, the ball was touched by the returner, making it a live. Kenn State’s Andre Parker grabbed the ball at the 7-yard and started to going the wrong way.Although the ball was ruled down on the 7-yard line, this play still has to be in the running for the dumbest play of the year. It’s funny that Parker may not have even been the highlight player for the play. A Towson player inexplicably tackled him as he ran down the field going the wrong way. Let the guy score a touchdown on his own team![BlackSportsOnline]

Kent State’s Andre Parker scoops up a fumble, runs the wrong way

There’s nothing better for a defensive player than to be able to not only recover a fumble, but to scoop it up and take it in for a score. This Isn’t The Best Way To Start The College Football Season

The college football season got off to a great start last night, between Vanderbilt giving No. 9 South Carolina quite the scare and Minnesota pulling off a 30-27 win in thrilling triple overtime fashion. But I assume that like me, most of you were glued to a TV that was streaming the ESPN 3 action of UCF and Akron from an iPad, because that was clearly the game of the night. While...

It’s only just opening day for college football and yet we still already have a candidate for “Dumbest Play of the Year.” That’s Kent State’s Andre Parker recovering a blown punt return after the ball grazed off a Towson returner, only to return the recovered fumble toward his own endzone.
