Ok the season is FINALLY over (well there is a bowl game eventually) and after the year Spartan fans have endured I think it may be time for a little fun. The All-B1G teams were announced last night and the Spartans had 7 players receiving 1st or 2nd team honors. Le’Veon Bell was the only MSU player to be selected on the first team for both the coaches and the media, though Johnny Adams, Max Bullough, Darqueze Dennard and Mike Sadler all received first and second team honors in either the coaches or media picks. Dion Sims was robbed and was given second team honors in both polls, while Will Gholston snuck into the media’s second team.             Of the honored players, five of them are juniors and one sophomore with the lone senior being Johnny Adams. Here is where the fun begins: Of the six honored players, which will return to Michigan State for their senior season? Let me first re-list the players: Will Gholston, Le’Veon Bell, Dion Sims, Darqueze Dennard, Max Bullough and Mike Sadler. Let’s get the easiest one out of the way: despite rumors (I’m joking there were no rumors) Mike Sadler will be back for his junior year. The last 5 are much tougher to determine and in all honesty a great bowl game could affect each individuals decision.             I will start with the defensive side of the ball; we have Max Bullough, Will Gholston and Darqueze Dennard. Max Bullough has been a monster this year (102 tackles, 12 for loss) and a true leader for the Spartans. He could leave early, though I believe he will be back next year in the green and white.  Darqueze Dennard also had a great season, arguably a better year than his senior teammate Johnny Adams.  He finished the season with 3 interceptions, 10 pass breakups and 49 tackles. Despite strong numbers, Dennard is another player that I believe will be back next year in the green and white. The final player of the group: Will Gholston is an intriguing prospect to many NFL head coaches. Who wouldn’t love to have a 6’6” 280 pound defensive end? A few weeks ago I would have said that Gholston is gone, but apparently Gholston indicated to Rico Beard (a spartanmag correspondent) that he plans to return for his senior season. With that being said, I would pencil him in for next year but I wouldn’t use a pen.             Let’s move to the offensive side of the ball; there’s Le’Veon Bell and Dion Sims. Bell led the nation in carries, was ranked third in rushing yards per game and 15th nationally in all-purpose yards. He was a WORKHORSE for the Spartans and is currently ranked the 2nd overall running back prospect by ESPN and Scouts Inc. If that 2nd overall rank warrants him a 1st or 2nd round pick, he will head to the NFL. Graduating is important to Bell, but one must remember that he enrolled early as a freshman and may be ahead academically. As it stands I think Le’Veon is 50/50 right now, another 200-yard game in the bowl would certainly tilt the scale a bit. But since were having fun I will take a guess and say that Le’Veon Bell is headed to the NFL following the bowl game. One Spartan left: Dion Sims who finished the year with 33 receptions for 451 years and 2 touchdowns. Currently Sims is ranked the number 4 overall tight end by ESPN and scouts Inc. Honestly I think Sims is gone, his stock may never get any higher. I could be wrong, but having to make a choice I say Dion is leaving for the NFL as well.             Nothing is set in stone, and no player has publicly made a comment (other than the Gholston rumor). Time will tell, but for now we must wait to see which bowl game our Spartans are headed to. Hope that was a bit fun, it was for me. Let me know what you think the Spartan NFL eligible players will decide.
