“I feel more lucky than anybody on this earth to be honest,” Lorenzo Mauldin told the media following the Louisville football team’s practice on Wednesday night. Mauldin was the victim of a hit & run accident on Tuesday morning and spent the night in the hospital. Fortunately, it appears that Mauldin is fine, other than being a little sore.
“Right now, I want to thank all the fans that gave me support while I was in the hospital. They gave me encouragement while I was down, and I want to say the fans are basically on the same level as God right now for giving me all types of encouragement.”
Charlie Strong said on Tuesday that Mauldin’s status for Louisville’s season opener against Ohio on Sunday was uncertain. Mauldin said following the practice that he wants to play, but it’ll be up to the trainers.
If you’ve had the chance to be around Mauldin, then it’s probably not hard for you to imagine that he’s the type of guy who will make the best of a bad situation.
“They were trying to
