FYI, Muchie Legaux is not better than Teddy Bridgewater. After making the game winning 30 yard field goal try in overtime Friday night, John Wallace is now 7-8 on the season. Preston Brown was the Cards leading tackler for the second consecutive game and also recorded his first career interception (which was correctly predicted by our own Nick Coffey on the Inside The Press Box pre-game show just prior to kick-off). To not allow Preston to have all the glory Calvin Pryor and Terrell Floyd picked off a couple of Munchie’s passes as well.  The later possibly the most critical in overtime. Teddy, Teddy, Teddy Bridgewater ladies and gentlemen.  24-41 passes for a career high 416 yards and two touchdowns.  And he’s only a sophomore.  Teddy is the heart and soul of this team and they will go as he goes.  If Bridgewater continues to pull this team out of tight corners and win ballgames there is no telling how far they’ll go. Special Teams continues to be a major thorn in the side of this f...

Louisville football back where it belongs

Over the past three seasons, Charlie Strong has talked a lot about getting University of Louisville football back where it belongs. But even he has to be surprised by what’s going on in the polls. According to CBSSports, U of L is ranked No. 12 in the Associated Press poll and No. 10 in the ESPN/USAToday Coaches poll. What’s even more impressive, however, is that Louisville is...

Louisville 34, Cincinnati 31: Cardinals Win Keg of Nails, Remain Undefeated

At times it felt like we were witnessing a Big 12 game out there as Louisville (8-0, 3-0) pulled out a crazy 34-31 overtime victory over rival Cincinnati (5-2, 1-1) and took home The Keg of Nails for the first time in five seasons. Even sweeter for Louisville is the fact that they improved to 8-0 and kept their chances at being in a BCS bowl alive and well. Before the game Munchie...

Louisville wins in OT, stays unbeaten

John Wallace kicked a 30-yard field goal in overtime to lift No. 16 Louisville to a 34-31 victory over Cincinnati on Friday night after an attempt to ice the redshirt kicker went horribly wrong for the Bearcats. Cincinnati got the ball first in OT but Terrell Floyd intercepted Munchie Legaux's floater in the end zone and the Cardinals drove 12 yards to set up Wallace's kick...

College Fantasy Football: Week 10 Waiver Wire Report

The BCS picture is starting to take shape and so should your league landscape.  At this point in the season, you are either firmly out of contention (better luck next year) or you are making your playoff push (cue ‘Eye of the Tiger’).  If you are looking through the waiver wire to find a weekly starter, you are not going to find any.  With just two or three weeks left in the...

Bearcats Drop OT Thriller to Louisville

I don't feel like doing a whole post on the Louisville 34-31 victory over Cincinnati, so I'll do 10 things that stand out to me after the game.  1) Damn that 4th quarter was a lot of fun  You had Teddy Bridgewater throwing gorgeous deep passes on a 93 yard drive to tie the score. DeVante Parker broke a catch for 64 yards when a 1 handed Deven Drane made a horrible...

Cincinnati loses 34-31 in OT to No. 16 Louisville

Cincinnati blew a second-half lead for the second straight week, and this one really hurt. Munchie Legaux threw a costly interception in overtime, leading to John Wallace's winning 30-yard field goal in No. 16 Louisville's 34-31 victory over the Bearcats on Friday night. Cincinnati (5-2, 1-1 Big East) led 24-14 with 10:26 remaining in the third quarter, but needed a late...
