Despite an unbelievable second half meltdown, Louisville’s 36-7 halftime lead helped the Cardinals squeeze out a 39-34 win over North Carolina. Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals made a statement this afternoon on national television in the first half, but the second half wasn’t exactly a good look. Everything the Cards needed to do in order to blow a huge lead, they did. Teddy Bridgewater continued to prove that play like one of the best quarterback’s in the country. Bridgewater completed 23-of-28 passes for 279 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. Louisville’s offensive line played tremendous in the first half, but had quite a bit of trouble in the second half. The offensive unit looked untouchable early on, both through the air and on the ground, but the second half was a different story. The Cards were outscored 27-3 in the second half.
