Spring Football is right around the corner. With Louisville embarking on what could be an undefeated and potentially historic regular season, it’s never too early to look at the “Way Too Early Rankings” is it? ESPN College Football Analyst Mark Schlaback released his second edition of his 2013 Way-Too-Early Preseason Top 25 on Monday now that National Signing Day is complete and the Cards came in at the 8th spot. Here is an excerpt of what Schlaback had to say about the Cards.
“After finishing 11-2 and upsetting Florida 33-23 in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Louisville really didn’t seem to seize it’s momentum. The Cardinals (2013 recruiting) class was ranked 43rd in the country, and wide receiver James Quick of Louisville was the only signee ranked in the ESPN 150. But it’s not like the Cards needed a lot of immediate help…Louisville will bring back seven starters on offense, including quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who threw for 3,718 yards with 27 touchdowns and eight interceptions

Focus on Russ Smith a distraction
From all indications, Russ Smith isn’t comfortable as a team player. More comfortable in a lead role.
