When LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger transferred from Georgia (after being kicked off the team for rules violations), everyone figured that he would be their savior and replace the ineptness that Jordan Jefferson had showed in recent years.  Unfortunately this has not been the case for the Tigers.Mettenberger has looked unsettled and unaware in the pocket, and while he may have a cannon for an arm, he hasn’t showed it very often and is prone to poor displays of accuracy.  Perhaps that is why he unveiled the rainbow shoes, to relax himself a little bit and play better this weekend.  But, realistically he probably just has some terrible fashion sense.H/T: CFB Section

LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger’s ridiculous shoes

LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger was supposed to be the savior for the LSU offense, so far this season that hasn’t happened at all. Mettenberger looks confused in the pocket and hasn’t made great decisions or throws. Yes, it would be easy to blame the LSU offensive line, who are playing about their 16th player this season, or the wide receivers who have dropped about every good...

LSU's QB issue looms large before Alabama

Zach Mettenberger was never supposed to be the question. Mettenberger, who began his career at Georgia, consistently offered an answer, a solution to other teams' problems. He provided an answer for Butler (Kan.) Community College, leading the Grizzlies to the JUCO national title game. During his re-recruitment, FBS programs across the country needed an experienced signal caller...

Alabama vs. LSU: For Les Miles, there's no such thing as an off week

LSU coach Les Miles holds a place somewhere near the top of the college coaching ranks. Ironically, though, he doesn’t exactly have a reputation as a master tactician. Whatever Miles’ shortcomings may be in the Xs-and-Os department, they haven’t stopped the Tigers from kicking ass when given extra time to prepare for an opponent. Since taking over at LSU, The Hat's...

Ex-LSU QB Jefferson ordered to jail

A state judge has revoked former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson's bond in his 2011 simple battery case and ordered him to report to parish prison Tuesday because of last week's arrest on a marijuana charge. The Advocate reports District Judge Chip Moore told Jefferson that he had a "real problem with what's going on." Moore ordered that Jefferson be arraigned...
