In an apparent effort to go from nationally loved (not counting you, Alabama) to nationally hated in a shorter timespan than Steve McNair and Tiger Woods combined, Johnny Manziel, his family, and Texas A&M have begun working with the Aggies licensing program to trademark the nickname "Johnny Football." Since Manziel can't profit in any way from the trademark and keep his amateur NCAA eligibility they're basically doing this just to prevent anyone else from making a Johnny Football t-shirt, button, hat, poster, or anything else a reasonable Texas A&M fan would be remotely interested in purchasing. Come on, bro. I could understand doing this if you're going to personally profit from it. Like Owen Wilson tells Greg in Meet the Parents, you've gotta strike while the iron's hot, especially with all the Benjamins to be made in bio-med, but Manziel won't see a dime. Why not let fans or other entrepreneurial students make a couple bucks off it? Manziel's gonna make his millio...
