IntheOT:
An absolutely awful break literally today for South Carolina and star running back Marcus Lattimore breaking his right leg against Tennessee today. This comes one year after he suffered a similiar but not quite as devastating injury ripping up his ACL on left knee. Check out the picture and video of how much his knee is bent out of shape…Watch this video on YouTube Embedded with WP YouTube Lyte.Absolutely devastating and no other way to explain it. You hate to see this happen and potentially end someone’s dream of making the NFL. It’s one thing to happen once actually making it and putting millions in the bank. But, before it college crushing a young kid’s dream you have to feel for him. Especially after what happened last year suffering that torn ACL.You can tell how much he was liked and respected by everyone in football with the onfield reaction of even the Volunteers coming onto the field hoping he was okay. Such a tragedy to see this occur to someone who had such a bright career ahead of him and by all accounts seemed like a terrific human being. Many experts thought he may not even be able to recover from that injury, and even if he did it would negatively effect his draft stock. Prior to the injury he looked like he was right back on track being one of the best running backs in the NFL. We all know backs don’t get drafted that high as the NFL is turning even more so into a passing game, nobody knows for sure where he would have been drafted if healthy… many guessing 1st round if not early 2nd round.I would be shocked now if he gets drafted that high which would eliminate any type of big signing bonus if drafted at all. Should he recover and receive the green light from doctors if I’m an NFL GM or coach he needs to be given a chance due to his tremendous work ethic and attitude. You can’t take the talent out of someone so please NFL brainiacs give Lattimore a chance to play in the preseason or stick around on the practice roster.
