For nearly 12 minutes Tommy Tuberville talked to the Cincinnati media. I'm not part of the media but I watched the video. Here are the important things that Coach Tubs had to say. Last week was a tragedy, tough for everyone involved including players. hoping to get more done but with the situation the players thoughts were in other places. Rightly so. Mark Barr still in serious condition in the ICU. No change. Good practice Sunday, second practice today.  Knows USF is off to a slow start. They have 1 of the best RBs in the country (Marcus Shaw). Played much better at times against Miami. Offense is a concern. Best defense we've seen all year. Scheme similar to what UC does. They've had success in some areas. As a result, it helped the team practice against themselves. Soft scouted. Looked at everyone and tried to get them in the right position. Think they've got a lot done with the bye. Made progress from Miami. Played very well defense, and poorly on offense. lot of urgency on offense. Figuring out is the coaching right, are they playing right, calling the right plays. Lot of changes on both sides of the ball. Not serious changes, but to make us better for the last 8 games. We'll see if we can cut the mistakes and play with more consistency. Question about if changes personnel or game plan Changing both sides. Dropping some things they ran first 4 games, adding things that might have worked first 4. Position changes not talked about until after the game. Studying the success they've had. You'll tell some changes watching, some subtle changes we might notice. The team has had 9 surgeries since 2 a days. Anthony McClung back 100%. Hadn't played since Illinois. Some guys haven't been back. Praised Shaq Washington. Says it will be nice having two guys with that skill set healthy.  If you don't practice you can't play. Question about the rest of the league Watch a little bit. Watch film on everyone. Figure out what the other teams do, preparing for the future. It's been good. Last week was good for practice and recruiting. It helps getting an idea of the big pictures. Follow up about the league performances Lot of loss, lot of teams struggling. Looks at personnel and how they're playing doesn't worry about wins and losses. This team (USF) hasn't won a game but is good as anyone we've played. You get Ws-Ls out of your mind. Can't control that. What we can control is playing 4 quarters and if we can win. It's been an interesting year nationally. Lots of parody. Question about not playing Coney against Miami We're gonna play the best players to win the game. Coney would probably play. The ball is in Brendon Kay's hands. If we have to go the rest of the way with him, we can. Would love to get Coney some game time. Team was too inconsistent for him to play Miami. Might have been a good wake up call for the offense. Question about the practice mood There wasn't anything normal the first few days after wreck. Devastating for everyone. Kids didn't know how to handle it. Learning experience for all of us. You have to learn from those situations and make yourself a better person in terms of how you handle things and how they work out. Lot of grieving, Still is. Somber. Not a lot of rah rah practices. Probably not for a while. Still not closure to the situation, still a serious situation. A couple players have lost friends. not football players, in wrecks.. Appreciates the ICU workers. He couldn't do it.  when you see the people that come in to the ICU, it breaks your heart. Getting back to playing and competition will help. A game last week wouldn't have helped in our situation. Doesn't know how to handle it. Time heals all. We'll just have to keep working and keep focused. Keep Marr Barr in your thoughts. Hopefully he will pull out of this.
