Found November 26, 2012 on Throw The Flag:
It’s no secret that Florida Gator safety Matt Elam has nothing but pure hatred for FSU. Both Florida and Florida State heavily recruited Elam and he has been known to get into scrums with players such as Greg Reid. After Will Muschamp and the Florida Gators defeated the Florida State Seminoles 37 – 26, Matt Elam decided to celebrate on Bobby Bowden Field which is jokingly referred to as Ron Zook field. Elam is probably the best safety in the country and is a monster on the field. He picked off EJ Manuel in the first half and played a great game. After the win, why not taunt the FSU faithful with some snow angeling? It’s not like the ACC referees gave the Gators any help. HT @L_Davis15

Florida Gators’ Scott Peek is dating an FSU Cheerleader

College Cheer Heaven uncovered that a Florida State cheerleader, Mellisa, is dating senior walk-on Florida running back Scott Peek. It turns out that it doesn’t take being the star football player to date a smoking hot cheerleader.

Gators show mettle in comeback win vs. FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. This one meant a lot. And after it was over, no one was calling the Gators soft. Certainly not head coach Will Muschamp. The Gators (fourth in the BCS) closed out an 11-1 regular season that no one predicted three months ago by coming from behind for a 37-26 win over No. 10 Florida State on Saturday. A season after needing a Gator Bowl victory over Ohio State...

Matt Elam picked off EJ Manuel and the Gator coaching staff went crazy

The Florida State Seminoles are hosting the Florida Gators at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahasse, Florida for the Battle for the Governors’ Cup. Despite FSU being a touchdown favorite, the Gators took an early 3 point lead. When EJ Manuel and the FSU offense got the ball they moved the ball down the field to be held to a third and long. With pressure from the Gator defensive line...

Muschamp received extension before season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- No. 5 Florida didn't wait to give coach Will Muschamp a contract extension. The Gators (11-1) gave him one before the season. President Bernie Machen and athletic director Jeremy Foley met in August and agreed to extend Muschamp's contract for a year, through 2017. The Gainesville Sun first reported the extension Tuesday. Foley says in a statement...

Will Muschamp got extension prior to season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Will Muschamps first season as Floridas head coach in 2011 didnt go as well as he hoped on the field, but UFs administration was confident enough in the direction of the program to extend Muschamps contract in August, it was revealed Tuesday. The one-year extension put the 41-year-old Muschamp under contract through 2017. Muschamp originally signed a five-year...

Florida completes huge turnaround with romp at FSU

A year after calling his team soft following an embarrassing home loss to Florida State, Florida coach Will Muschamp watched many of those same players rip the Seminoles 37-26 on Saturday. They clinched one of the best regular seasons in school history with a win more convincing than the final score. No. 5 Florida (11-1, 7-1 Southeastern Conference) now awaits its bowl invitation...

Roberson notches standout game

The Gators knew it was coming, Marcus Roberson said. Though the orange and blue came out swinging in Tallahassee Saturday afternoon, clinching the lead first, the Gators knew the garnet and gold would strike back — it was just a matter of when. The Noles’ time to rise arrived in the second half of the rivalry game, but so did Roberson’s huge plays, eventually carrying Florida...

Video: Gators talk win

Several Gators had big contributions to Florida's 37-26 victory over the Seminoles. Running back Mike Gillislee broke 1,000-yards on the season with a 140-yard performance. Kicker Caleb Sturgis broke the Florida career field goal record (previously 67) and now holds the top spot with 69 field goals. Cornerback Marcus Roberson added a 50-yard punt return and an interception in the win.

Gators ignore stats, run well on FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The statistics weren’t in Florida’s favor. Florida State came into Saturday with the nation’s top rush defense, allowing 70.6 yards per game and 2.3 yards per carry. The Gators ran for 244 yards at Doak Campbell Stadium, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. It didn’t surprise head coach Will Muschamp as much as the stats suggested. Florida knew it could run the ball.

Suddenly, Nick Saban thinks winning your division should matter in determining BCS bowls

If you ever needed proof that Nick Saban only cares about “fairness” when it benefits him or his team, this is it. When asked about how he feels about the loser of Saturday’s SEC Championship dropping below the Florida Gators and losing a spot in the Sugar Bowl, Saban says that it isn’t fair. And to top it off, he goes as far as to say that since Florida didn’t win the...

Three & Out: Week 13

First Down. The Florida Gators are ranked 5th in both the AP and Coaches Top 25 polls and it just doesn't seem right (#4 in BCS). They've beaten three teams currently ranked in the Top 10 (LSU, Texas A&M and South Carolina). For comparison, Notre Dame has beaten just three teams currently ranked in the entire Top 25. Florida's only loss came to 11-1 Georgia in a game...
