Theresa Romero, Michael Floyd’s mother, told the press that Floyd will remain in school at Notre Dame and will play football for the upcoming season.
“Michael feels blessed for the opportunity,” Romero said.
Floyd was suspended on March 21st after he was caught for drunken driving, including having an alcohol rate twice over the limit. He is scheduled for court on May 2nd.
Floyd has had similar occurrences before this involving alcohol, which led to this suspension. There is no word yet, however, if Floyd will receive further punishment from this.
Floyd, a 6’3″ 227-pound receiver, had a great season with the Fighting Irish last year, having 79 catches for 1025 yards and twelve touchdowns.
If Floyd does want to enter the NFL, which he is eligible for, many say that he could apply for the supplemental draft.
We’ll see what happens.
