The 2013 Michigan football season almost surely ended for Michigan linebacker Jake Ryan before it came close to starting. On Tuesday during a spring football workout. Ryan would have been heading into his junior season, but will probably end up receiving a medical redshirt.
There was no official word from Michigan on how long Ryan will be out, but most ACL tears cost athletes eight to twelve months. Head coach Brady Hoke said through a press release, “We will support Jake to make sure he has everything he needs to get through this. I know he will attack his rehabilitation just like he does everything else and will be back when he’s ready.”
Ryan led the Wolverines with 88 tackles last season with 16 tackles for loss, 4 1/2 sacks and four forced fumbles.
