Denard Robinson said he’d “run something pretty fast” in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine today, and the Michigan quarterback-turned-wide receiver didn’t disappoint. Robinson ran an official 4.43-second 40, tied for the seventh fastest time among receivers on a speedy day at Lucas Oil Stadium. Robinson clocked a handheld 4.34 seconds by NFL Network in his first attempt, after one false start, and a handheld 4.45 on his second after two false starts. Five players officially ran sub-4.4s. Texas receiver Marquise Goodwin, a four-time All-American in track, threatened Chris Johnson’s combine record (4.24 seconds) with a 4.27-second 40, West Virginia’s Tavon Austin and Texas A&M’s Ryan Swope both ran 4.34, and TCU’s Josh Boyce and Oklahoma’s Kenny Stills both ran 4.38.
