Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy has agreed to the framework of an eight-year contract that extends his current deal by four years. The school’s president Burns Hargis and athletic director Mike Holder announced the extension on Saturday, though details are not yet available as they are still being finalized. Gundy’s contract is still subject to the approval of the Board of Regents.
Gundy’s Cowboys are currently ranked third in the nation, as they just missed the BCS title game this year. They beat No. 4-ranked Stanford 41-38 in overtime on Monday night in the Fiesta Bowl. Oklahoma State finished the season 12-1 and won the Big 12 championship.
While he may be most known for this rant that sparked a ton of attention and media coverage, he’s actually one heck of a coach.
