An absurdly premature assessment of the 2010 Chippewas. What'd We Miss? When last we saw the Chippewas, the newly-minted MAC champions were taking the fight to perennial Sun Belt power Troy (what? The Sun Belt can have powers!) in the GMAC Bowl, winning 44-41 in double overtime. Their only '09 losses were sustained against Big Six competition, a 19-6 snoozer of a season opener at Arizona and a Halloween night horror (31-10) at Boston College. Highlights included a September upset at Michigan State and five games in which the offense scored at least 40 points, all wins. The Chippewas finished the season in the major polls for the first time in school history (23rd by the AP and 24th according to the coaches). What's Changed. The guy under center, for one.
