Gary Pinkel and his Missouri Tigers were able to pick up their first ever SEC victory on Saturday with a 33-10 victory over Kentucky.
While Mizzou was able to get the win, the discussion of whether or not Mizzou's spread attack will work in the SEC continues as the Tigers offense was hardly spectacular in the victory.
In fact, the usually prolific passing attack, despite a surprise appearance by James Franklin in the second half, was grounded for most of the afternoon. The Tigers racked up just 87 yards through the air, but yet, behind a stellar defensive effort and ground game that was just good enough, Mizzou was able to pull out a victory against a Kentucky team that is now 1-8 on the season.
Mizzou's offense has been blitzed with injures all season on the offensive line and most notably, to Franklin. The injuries, and some believe, the system has led to the Tigers ranking just 102nd in passing yards and 94th in rushing yards per game among all teams in the country...
