Seven is normally considered a lucky number but for Texas, that hasn't been the case - Quarterback Garrett Gilbert and safety Nolan Brewster, both of whom wore No. 7 on the back of their jerseys, left the program in a week's time with Gilbert transferring and Brewster quitting football with migraines and concussion-like symptoms.
Then again, Mykelle Thompson switched his jersey to No. 7 and promptly blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown against Iowa State. Either way, here are seven tidbits from Monday's press conference.
