The state of Indiana is under a state of quarterback emergency. The school's three BCS AQ schools all face uncertainty at the quarterback position this week following interesting in-game developments and injuries at Notre Dame, Purdue and Indiana.

Does Notre Dame have a quarterback controversy or not? Head coach Brian Kelly may have created one Saturday by inserting Tommy Rees in for a two-minute offense but he is insisting there is no controversy to explore. Quite honestly, Notre Dame has bigger fish to fry, according to Michael Felder over at Your Best 11.

The Indiana Hoosiers may not have been going anywhere this season, but they were hoping to see how Tre Roberson would develop this season. The former Mr. Football in the state of Indiana was off to a decent start this season but that season is now over following a devastating broken leg injury suffered against Massachusetts. Following surgery and the insertion of a metal rod, Roberson is likely out of action for five to six months for a full recovery. That should make him available for spring football in Bloomington.

Meanwhile, Purdue is awaiting more word on the status of their quarterback, Robert Marve. Head coach Danny Hope mentioned on his radio show Monday night Marve had sustained some damage to his left ACL, but the extent of the injury was unknown. This, of course, is the same knee that has been injured before.

Speaking of quarterbacks, Utah's Jordan Wynn made the tough decision to retire from playing football yesterday following another injury over the weekend.

Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema fired offensive line coach Mike Markuson after just two games with the program following a second straight poor performance by the Badgers. Wisconsin is known for their offensive linemen but things just have not been going well for the preseason Big Ten favorites by some. Is this the kind of change that can shake things up and turn a lackluster season around already?

Western Kentucky head coach Willie Taggert apologized for a comment about Western Kentucky students yesterday. He previously joked that the reason some Western Kentucky students wear Kentucky apparel is because they couldn't get in to Kentucky. In other words, they s'posed to be SEC!

Obligatory Arkansas singing fan video.

The Big Ten is clearly off to a rough start this season, and there is no way to sugarcoat anything happening right now. Not after Michigan is blown away in the most visible game involving a team from the conference and coming off a weekend that sees three Big Ten teams come up short out on the west coast territory. As the New York Times says, no pressure Michigan State.

How much did Savannah State earn during their two sacrificial beat downs against Oklahoma State and Florida State? We break it down.

Arkansas suffered a tough loss at home this past weekend, but the Razorbacks are still supporting head coach John L. Smith.

Alabama is down a running back, with Jalston Fowler likely out for the rest of the regular season with a knee injury.

Did DeLoss Dodds pay any attention to Texas A&M's SEC debut. Nope. I don't believe him either.

Video of the Day

Florida International is celebrating their tenth anniversary of playing college football this fall. The following video is an awesome look back on the last decade of the university as the football program literally started from scratch.
