Bearcats quarterback Munchie Legaux suffered a serious leg injury Saturday at Illinois. After spending Saturday night in Urbana, Munchie was transferred to Cincinnati yesterday. He's at the UC Medical Center. UC doesn't have to rush to give us the severity of the injury, which is good for them because they haven't done that. All Tommy Tuberville has officially said is that Munchie is out for the season. That is understandable. The next question is what happens to the depth chart. Brendon Kay is the starter. Bennie Coney is going to be the backup. It's a good thing that UC plays Northwestern State on Saturday night because Coney is going to see his first action at QB. One would think he would get a significant look. Or maybe Kay plays most of the game and that's not going to be true. After them, the options are slim. It seems Tuberville is going to have to resort to moving someone back to QB. The easiest choice would be Jordan Luallen or Patrick Coyne. Neither one has played this season. Coyne hasn't played a game at QB. Luallen was mainly a wildcat option. Sorry Michael Colosimo, you aren't really an option. The most important thing is the health and well being of Munchie Legaux. The depth chart will work itself out. Here's hoping that Munchie won't be down for long. We are praying for you, Munchie. Information from this article was used.
