Since launching MSF some four years ago, I’ve had the opportunity to have many memorable experiences I never imagined.

I got to have my pasty mug on ESPN. I’ve gotten to interview one of my childhood heroes and hang out with perhaps the greatest football player of all-time. I’ve gotten to participate in a fantasy football draft in the same boardroom where Roger Goodell breathes fire on players appealing suspensions.

This weekend, I will begin yet another memorable experience, thanks to the fine folks at La Quinta. And it just may end up at the top of the all-time list when all is said and done.

MSF College Football Roadtrip

You may notice that all of the ads on MSF right now are for La Quinta. Get used to it. That’s what you will see anytime you visit MSF for about the next month.

Why? Because La Quinta is sponsoring a four-week college football roadtrip that will take me to some of the most storied college football hotbeds in America.

How To Connect and Follow

Naturally, I will be staying in La Quinta hotels along the way, and I will also be chronicling the trip here at MSF and elsewhere. There will be:

  • Posts and photo diaries here at MSF
  • Videos at YouTube.com/JerodMSF
  • Tweets from @JerodMorris
  • Instagrams (jerodmorris)
  • And plenty of fun Facebook status updates (Facebook.com/JerodMSF)

Connect with me however you want to, or just wait for the posts here.

My goal will be to give you a taste of what it’s like to take in a college football weekend in four cities where college football really matters.

The Schedule

Here is my schedule:

  • September 21-23: in Norman for Kansas State at Oklahoma
  • September 28-30: in Lincoln for Wisconsin at Nebraska
  • October 5-7: in Austin for West Virginia at Texas
  • October 19-21: in Columbus for Purdue at Ohio State

And I’ll have special guests with me along the way.

Special Guests

You’ll see more of The Beast this weekend, as he is accompanying me to Norman to see where his football hero, Adrian Peterson, first burst onto the national scene.

You’ll also see Amanda Lawson and probably Mr. Kaufman and hopefully many other MSF writers you know and love in Lincoln.

In Austin, I’ll be reuniting with longtime friend (and bandwagon Texas fan!) Aaron Bollinger, who used to live in Austin. We may have another special guest or two for that weekend as well. Stay tuned.

And finally, the trip will end with KVB and I taking our second trip to Columbus together for an Ohio State game. The first one, about a decade ago, was quite memorable – there are still many inside jokes we laugh about today. I don’t doubt this one will be the same.

Needless to say, I’m quite excited, both for the opportunity to go and for the ability I’ll have to share it with you. And I am, of course, very appreciative of the folks from La Quinta for giving me this opportunity.

Tomorrow, Keith will have a preview of the Kansas State-Oklahoma game that will kick off the trip. Stay tuned for that.

In the meantime, enjoy this tribute to Adrian Peterson’s time as a Sooner, which serves as a nice appetizer for weekend #1 of the trip.
