Fox Sports Southwest:
SMU (6-3, 4-2 in C-USA) hosts Navy (3-6, Independent) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT in the second game of FSNs nationally televised C-USA doubleheader. Our announcers preview the matchup.
Ron Thulin (play-by-play)
SMU seems to have gotten the monkey off its back with last weeks win over Tulane, stopping a two game slide. The Mustangs should be able to move the ball against a Navy defense that has been shaky this season. The question is will they be able to stop the triple option of the Midshipmen, something they have not done in the past.
J.C. Pearson (analyst)
Navy is in a must-win situation and has to win its last three games to become bowl eligible. SMU is back on the winning track after a two-game losing streak. Already bowl eligible, the Mustangs need to win because they are still in the C-USA West title chase.
Jeremy Bloom (sideline analyst)
Navy will need its triple-option offense to be clicking this week as the SMU rush defense is giving up just 106 rushing yards per game. Defensively, Navy will need to contain SMU running back Zach Line, who leads Conference USA in rushing with 1,089 yards and 17 touchdowns. Navy has won four straight meetings with SMU and the Midshipmen are 7-1 vs. the Mustangs since 1995.
