MVP - Lebron James
The biggest issue with the MVP award in my mind is the actual definition of MVP. Is it the individual the excels in every aspect of the game, or is it the individual that excels at his own game while making those around him better? You can argue that Dwyane Wade took a team with 15 wins last year to the playoffs this year. Kobe Bryant hasn't been too shabby either this year. But when I think of MVP, I think of Lebron. His offense is no surprise, but this year he has really turned up his defense. Not to mention that he has led his team to the NBA's best record.

Defensive Player - Dwight Howard
I was actually thinking to myself, would it be possible for an MVP to also win the defensive player award? I don't think it has happened before and I don't think it will ever happen so this award goes to Dwight Howard. Dwight is just shy of averaging three blocks per game and finished the regular season with 231 blocks. Not only does he defend the big man position well, but he's always ready for drives and typically puts it in the third row. Again, Dwyane Wade has had his name thrown in the discussion. He leads the league in blocks for guards and plays clutch defense. Lebron has been a terrific defender this year, but this one still goes to DH12.

Sixth Man Award- Jason "the Jet'' Terry
He averages 19.6 points per game and has been a crucial part of the Mavs success this year. A definite starter on any other team, other than San Antonio, who has a sixth man of their own. Manu Ginobili is normally in the discussion but has been sidelined with an injury for most of the year.

Most Improved - Danny Granger
He has missed 15 games this season, but he is averaging 25.8 points per game. DANNY GRANGER? We all knew this kid was good, but I didn't think he would be a 25 PPG good. Others are saying Devan Harris is deserving of this award. In my mind, if your in the discussion for this award, and you don't get, it can be a compliment. To be most improved, it means you have to have some decent years, and then have a breakout year. Devan Harris is good, but I think he's always been good. He was good in Dallas, and now is really doing well in Jersey.

Coach of the Year - Mike Brown
He is the obvious choice in my mind. They have been stellar at home and ended the season with the best record in the NBA. Everybody talks about how great the west is, and they are, but when an Eastern Conference team has the best record, you have to turn to the coach.
