there is no hypocracy, jacksonville state is a significant drop in competion from ole miss for those other cases, if its not div 2. thx to the NCAA for standing up to a spin by ole miss, nutt and masoli to whine a tale after the damamge is done. Masoli didnt pick ole miss because they had a grad program, ole miss picked masoli because they figured they could ask for forgiveness rather than permission to get around the rules, BOO Freakin HOO!. Masoli tarnished what has been built in eugene over the last 1/2 century and a year suspension doesnt even come close to what the spoiled brat deserves and you talking heads understand that, it what creates your blow hard BS! Fortunately Oregon and the NCAA are still trying to create men, in the nasty business of using young talent to fill seats. Unfortunately Ole miss and nutt have proven themselves not to be leaders, but pimps.
Jeremiah Masoli that the NCAA has denied a waiver that would have allowed him to play at Ole’ Miss this season without having to sit out a year like most transfers.
The kid has had his chances and he has blown every single on of them. But that doesn’t mean that the NCAA wasn’t hypocritical in its ruling.
In a press release following the announcement, the NCAA said: “The waiver exists to provide relief to student-athletes who transfer for academic reasons to pursue graduate studies, not to avoid disciplinary measures at the previews university.”
On the surface, I agree with the statement. Masoli didn’t transfer to Ole’ Miss to further his education – he transferred so he could play one more year of college football in hopes of getting drafted into the NFL.
