Terrance Jones Is Slowly Moving Up. Via: Bing
The NCAA 2010-2011 season is underway! Currently, some of the top schools in the nation ( Duke, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, Kentucky, etc) are playing in some tournaments in places like New York City and Puerto Rico. With some of the college season tournaments beginning, I thought we give a update as to some players who have caught the attention of SCIC and who should be moving up the draft boards and for some, into the player rankings. From the players who started off well, to the players who have issues and stumbled out of the gate, let’s go to the lone state.
Jordan Hamilton, So, Texas
-Hamilton has in short, impressed alot of people coming out off the gate. Last season, Hamilton impressed me with his advanced scoring ability and nothing’s change in that aspect of his game. Hamilton has improved his rebounding and his defense. With rebounding, Hamilton looks to be in position more on defensive rebounds. On defense, he’s still average but, he’s learning to use his body to make defenders uneven and force tough shots. As of today, Hamilton projects as a mid 1st round pick.
Mason Plumlee, So, Duke
-Before the Marquette game, Plumlee looked average. After dropping 25 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks? Plumlee gets some love here. He still has some questions on his overall post game ( low and high) but he’s very athletic and works better in space. The difference between Plumlee and every other Duke post player? Plumlee actually isn’t scared to fight for a rebound. As of today, I project Plumlee as a lottery pick
John Jenkins, So, Vanderbilt
- Jenkins is BREATHTAKING as a shooter. His shooting ability reminds me of Marcus Thornton. Against North Carolina and West Virginia, Jenkins posted great games (16 vs UNC, 27 vs WVU) and has seem to be the late game shooter for that team. I think he’s someone who could rise this season and can become a 1st round pick.
Terrance Jones, Fr, Kentucky
- Right now, Terrance Jones has the #1 pick to lose. Jones has showed me a couple things that I was highly impressed by. For one, Jones knows how to position himself in the paint for a rebound. I’ve seen dozens of missed shots come off the basket for Jones to simply pluck out the sky. Another asset? He’s a #1 guy on his team plus his passing. Terrance Jones has all the talent to be a stud and the main man for coach Calipari and the Wildcats. Coming into the season, I must have seen dozens of Lamar Odom comparisons for Jones. Terrance Jones might be everything we expected Lamar Odom to be coming out of college. Think about that.
