Vinny Curry was a force as soon as he stepped onto the Marshall Campus. But playing in the ill-regarded Conference USA hurt his draft stock. He has the size at 6’4’’, 266 pounds and put up the numbers, but some worry that it wasn’t against top competition. In his freshman season, Curry made seven appearances, accumulating nine tackles and forcing a fumble. By his senior year in 2011, he was Conference USA’s Defensive Player of the Year, was in the running for the Bronko Nagurski, Chuck Bednarik, and Rotary Lombardi trophies. He ranked second in the nation with 21.5 tackles for loss and was sixth with 11 sacks.
