2011 NFL Draft prospect, Arkansas Quarterback Ryan Mallett, will get prime time exposure this weekend as Arkansas play South Carolina on ESPN at 7pm Eastern. The towering 6’7″ Mallett faces the worst pass defense in the SEC and has not faced the likes of the Razorback. Scouts look as Mallett as a Top Three QB prospect in the 2011 NFL Draft and his peers are right there with them.
“I think he’s a top-three NFL quarterback; I think he’s that good,” said linebacker Tony Straughter. “I’ve seen him go through his progressions (well). He’s a pretty good athlete, tall, and he throws a nice ball.”
“I look at him like Peyton Manning,” said USC spur Antonio Allen. “His arm … he has a cannon.” Picking apart a secondary is “exactly what he does,” Allen said.
