PLAYERS: Nick Saban

He's taking Alabama to the national championship game, coming in January against Notre Dame, but according to some if he wins his fourth BCS national championship, then most likely head coach Nick Saban could make a run for an NFL... again.Sources, who spoke with the Boston Globe, claims that if he does make a jump from college football to the pros, then it'll be with Michael Lombardi as general manager.Saban, who had a terrible time with the Miami Dolphins going 15-17 (from 2005-06), could make a run for the Cleveland Browns coaching spot, which will MOST LIKELY be open to anyone next season, according to the sources.Saban wouldn't make his decision, on whether to stay with Alabama or leave, until after the national championship game in January. Saban isn't a stranger to the Cleveland Browns, as he was an assistant under Bill Belichick.

  • I really don't care if Saban leaves as it is getting boring here for the most part watching him pound everybody into submission but I don't think he could acquire an entire team in Cleveland that is submissive to his abuse. I think he still remembers commenting on the pro athlete culture. His ego can't stand anything less than admiration and fear from anyone he comes in touch with. If he leaves it is more likely to be a WVU team or similar as Urban MEYER did to beat an unthinkable SEC team.
  • Come on, why would he leave the eleaphants and make a fool of his coaching for all to see a repeat of Miami!!! He is a big time control freak and we all know when the players are getting a check each week, they simpily would tell nick to go chase a rolling donut!!!! Get real

Nick Saban inducted into the Alabama Hall of Fame.

Nick Saban has only been head football coach at Alabama since 2007. That's apparently long enough for the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, which has announced the induction of Saban and seven other members of its 2013 induction class. Coaching the Crimson Tide to two BCS titles in three years, with a chance to go three for four in the 2013 BCS title game apparently compensates for...
