Georgia came through the opening month just fine. The mission now: Keep the foot on the pedal. The Bulldogs moved up to three spots to No. 6 in The Associated Press rankings Sunday after a thrilling 44-41 victory over LSU, their second triumph over a Top 10 team this season. The schedule gets much easier the rest of the way, with only one game remaining against a ranked opponent - No. 18 Florida, which already lost its quarterback to a season-ending injury. Georgia got an injury scare in its win over the Tigers, losing star running back Todd Gurley to a sprained ankle in the first half. Gurley watched the rest of the game in a walking boot, but coach Mark Richt says the sophomore is day to day.

Georgia RB Gurley injured vs. LSU

Georgia running back Todd Gurley has sustained an apparent left ankle injury in Saturday's game against No. 6 LSU. He seemed unlikely to return, watching the second half wearing a windbreaker and a walking boot on his foot. Gurley was injured on a 23-yard run in the second quarter. He hobbled to the bench, where he was surrounded by trainers, then jogged to the locker room...

AP & Coaches Poll Projections Week Six: Georgia moving back up

After week five's games, AP No. 9 Georgia (Coaches No. 10) will be the top ranked one loss team with still a shot at a BCS Championship berth. For beginning week six, Georgia will move up to at least No. 7 in both polls (AP& Coaches) and could be ranked as high as No. 6. Clemson and Ohio State are both on the bubble for the number three ranking in the AP Top 25. The Buckeyes...

Richt, Georgia Defeat LSU and Stay in SEC Hunt

Georgia (@USATODAYsports) When two top-10 Southeastern Conference teams play, we usually expect great things. Georgia and LSU certainly did not disappoint this afternoon, as the #9 Bulldogs hosted the #6 Tigers. Traditionally, both schools have been known for their defense but today, it was all offense. Both Aaron Murray and Zack Mettenberger had incredible games, and led their...

Video: Here’s The Final Play Of Georgia’s Epic Win Over LSU

Phew, what a game. Georgia outlasted LSU in an absolute slugfest this afternoon, holding on for a 44-41 victory in front of their home crowd (and ESPN’s College GameDay) in Athens. After a 25-yard touchdown strike from Aaron Murray to Justin Scott-Wesley gave the Dawgs a three-point lead late in the fourth quarter, UGA’s defense finally stepped up and shut down the Tigers offense...

CBR Exclusive: Georgia 44 LSU 41

In my early analysis of this game, I said that the key player for LSU was Zach Mettenberger and for Georgia it was the offensive line. Mettenberger played a fantastic game going 23 of 37 for 372 yards and 3 TD with no INT. He also led his team to a fantastic 10 of 15 on third down. He practically carried them in the first half while their ground game sputtered. If you just looked...

SEC Classic

There was an instant SEC Classic this afternoon when Georgia and LSU went back and forth before the Bulldogs prevailed 44-41. Aaron Murray threw 4 TDs including the clincher with 1:47 left to play. By no means is LSU (4-1, 1-1 SEC) out of the National Title hunt but they will have to overcome a tough schedule which includes Alabama. Now you have to think Georgia (3-1, 1-0) is the...

LSU Tigers vs. Georgia Bulldogs: Odds, Point Spead, Over/Under and tv info

The No. 6 LSU Tigers (4-0) do not feel like they are getting the respect they deserve. If they beat the No. 9 Georgia Bulldogs (2-1) they will earn more in the eyes of pollsters. Georgia continues its ridiculous schedule to start the season and can ill afford a second loss on the season. At 2-1 the Bulldogs will be looking to beat LSU and play its way back into the national title...
