Saturday September 3, 2011 the Northwestern Wildcats football team will open it's season against the Boston College Eagles @ 12:00 p.m e.t in  Alumni Stadium. It appears that the Wildcat's Heisman Trophy candidate and 2010 first team all Big-Ten quarterback, Dan Persa, may sit this one out. Northwestern head coach, Pat Fitzgerald, claims Persa is "100% healed". However, during practice Monday Persa was limping. Tina Akouris, Sun-Times Media, reported in her article "Limp or not, QB Dan Persa striving to be ready for Northwestern's opener", Persa has a ready explanation when asked about the right Achilles tendon he repured last season. "I'm rehabbing three or four times a day, and it really does a number on your body," Persa said. in the past couple of weeks, it has been pain-free, which is encouraging. It gets better every day."
