It appeared there was a major price to pay for Notre Dame football yesterday. Saturday’s 14-10 win over a middling mediocre USC Trojans team came with a serious price, as both the best offensive player on the Notre Dame football team, and one of their better defenders left with injuries. Both QB Tommy Rees and DT Louis Nix let with the game.
Tommy Rees has a neck strain, but is designated day-to-day. He could practice Tuesday and perhaps start versus Air Force on Saturday. So no biggee there.
“We’re expecting that he can,” ND Coach Brian Kelly said Sunday on a teleconference with the media. Kelly said that Rees will need to gets reps with the ones if he is to get the starting not over Andrew Hendrix. “I would say that he’s got to have at least a couple practice days where he’s leading the offense.”
