Buckeyes quarterback Braxton Miller suffered a sprained MCL during Saturday’s 42-7 win over San Diego State. It was during the second quarter when the Heisman candidate went down. Head coach Urban Meyer classified Miller’s status as day-to-day when Meyer met with the media today.
Meyer mentioned that Miller wanted to be put back in the game, and the coach also acknowledged that it was a possibility, but the staff did not want to risk Miller to any further injury. With the uncertainty of whether Miller will return for this weekend’s road game at Cal, Kenny Guiton may end up getting the nod to start.
Guiton played well in two-and-a-half quarters of action despite averaging only 5.4 yards-per-pass completion. He finished the game completing 19 of 28 passes for 152 yards with two touchdowns in the air and one interception, while adding 98 yards rushing with another score on the ground.
But going out to Cal will be a different atmosphere than hosting San Diego State at The Shoe.
