The police have closed the case, but here is what I am seeing. Hyde and the woman get into a verbal altercation, something that Hyde says causes the woman to snap and smack him in the face. Let’s stop right there. At this point she is the aggressor, she is the one who started the altercation and clearly hits him in the face.  So remember that if you think Hyde’s reaction was wrong.  Here is the statement she released about not pressing charges. I would like to thank the Columbus Police department for their patience and professionalism they showed conducting their investigation. They have advised me I have up to two years to consider criminal charges. I believe the video, if released, will speak for itself when shown in its entirety and not edited or censored. We have the unedited video and she is proven to be a liar. Hyde just like anyone who gets slap immediately goes back at the woman, he seems to push or slap her, before thinking the better of it and walking away from altercation. Whatever Hyde did, he shouldn’t have done it.  Part of being man at times is walking away from confrontations with women.  Even if we are hit first, if there is retaliation, we are the ones put in cuffs.  No one should feel any sympathy for the woman who started the altercation in the first place. If anyone should have been charged with a crime it should have been her.  Being a woman scorned doesn’t give you permission to hit people and make false accusations. H/T Deadspin
